Seattle Legal Process Service Agreement
- Purpose of Service
By submitting this request, you confirm that it is for legal and lawful purposes. Seattle Legal is not liable for any damages, claims, or legal actions that may arise from this service. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any lawful reason. - No Guarantee of Success
We will make a reasonable effort to effect service of your documents, undertaking a maximum of three attempts at the address provided. The success of service depends on various factors outside of our control, including but not limited to the recipient’s availability or evasiveness, accuracy of the provided address, and unforeseen circumstances. Therefore, we cannot guarantee successful service despite our diligent efforts. Your request becomes effective and billable upon submission. - Payment Policies
• We offer multiple payment options, including PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Credit and Debit cards.
• Services commence upon arrangement of payment.
• All payments are final and non-refundable. - Document Submission
Please ensure that you upload or email your service documents if this is the method you choose to provide them to us. If you fail to do so, your assignment will be put on hold, potentially causing delays in service. - Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your service after submitting your order, please get in touch with our staff immediately through one of the methods on our Contact page. - Orders for Multiple Recipients
Service requests are charged per individual or entity per address. If you need to serve more than one party, please submit separate orders. If you enter multiple recipients in the order form, we will only attempt to serve the first recipient listed. - Address Accuracy
We are not responsible for incorrect or incomplete addresses provided in your request. Service attempts are made up to three times for correctly entered addresses. If an address is deemed “bad” (e.g., recipient has moved, is deceased, etc.), we will stop attempts and contact you to discuss alternatives. - Service Attempts
Attempts for routine, expedited, and rush orders will occur at various times based on your selected service level. For on-demand orders, we will strive to assign your request as quickly as possible. - Affidavit of Service
Upon successful service, you will receive a completed affidavit of service in the format and manner specified in your order. If you want a specific format, additional fees may apply. You are responsible for submitting the affidavit to the court unless you select the affidavit filing option on the order form which requests and authorizes us to do so on your behalf. - Substitute Service
If you request that documents be served on another adult at the recipient’s address if the intended recipient is not available, you must verify with the court that substitute service for this document type is permissible. - Posting Documents
If you request that documents be posted after the third and final attempt, you must verify with the court whether this practice is permissible for this document type. - Service Area Fees
Additional fees may apply for services in remote or rural areas. - Exclusions
Service of process does not include mail service, court appearances, or testimony. Separate arrangements and payments must be made should these services be required.
